It is a visa that allows the fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen to enter the United States, as long as the couple marries within 90 days of entering the country.
Requirements to apply for the K1 visa:
- • Petitioner must be a U.S. citizen.
- • Both parties must be legally divorced or unmarried.
- • They must have seen each other in the last 2 years in person.
- • The U.S. citizen must demonstrate that he or she can financially support the household.
- • Must intend to marry
- • The petition will be reviewed in the U.S. and at the embassy of the fiancé(e)'s country.
